paris

Wow. These past few days have been an absolute whirlwind. Because we did so much in such a short period of time, this weekend felt like a dream.
If you told me I hadn't gone to Paris, and only dreamed it, I would believe you. Which is why I'm so glad I have proof in pictures :)

We got back this morning around 4am (German time). We almost missed our connecting train, as there were some delays when we left Paris, but thankfully everything worked out. When we got back to my grandparent's house, my mom and I tumbled into bed. When I awoke later this morning, cozy in my bed, it really didn't feel like I was in Paris only a few hours before.

Paris was simply amazing. So many wonderful sights and sounds, so rich in history, so full of beauty.
As long as I can remember, I've wanted to go to Paris. I really don't know how the idea was planted in my head, but nevertheless, it was there. I gazed at photo upon photo, listened to other peoples' accounts of their time there, all the while dreaming that someday I would be the one telling stories of my time in Paris and showing other people my photos.
So when I found out that I would be going to this city that I'd loved for so long, I was overjoyed.

Seeing places that I knew only from photos was surreal. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dome, Sacre Coeur, the Louvre, just to name a few.

To tell you the truth, though, my time there was a little more stressful that I imagined it. All of today I've been soaking everything in...it all was so fast in Paris I didn't have time to do it there. I'm so so so so grateful for the photos I was able to take (over five hundred! Don't worry - there will be another post with more photos). Going through them, editing them, brought back the feelings I experienced over the last seventy two hours.

All in all, it was such an incredible trip. I'm extremely thankful that I was able to go to Paris, the city of my dreams. I can only hope I'll be able to go back someday :)
