i am an office supply junkie
(image from Apartment Therapy)
You are about to find out another one of my crazy quirks...I'm obsessed with office supplies. This really isn't a new "obsession"...as far back as I can remember I've loved office supplies. I remember being excited when it was time to take a trip to Office Depot or even walking through the home office aisle at Walmart.
Things such as pretty paper, cool pens/pencils, colored permanent markers (such as Sharpies and BIC Mark-it, MAJOR love! I go so far as to even collect them. Oh, and the tips of the markers HAVE to be pointy. I can't stand the ones that are already so used they're rounded out. Yes, I know...call me crazy...), binder
clips (Oh my. I go CRAZY with these...they have so many uses!), spiral bound notebooks...the list goes on and on. And on. And on some more.
Think I'm already crazy enough? Read on.
The problem with this addiction love of all things office related is that I never want to use any of the things. I don't want to mess up their prettiness (Yes, that's a word! I looked it up. :)). I have at least 2 notebooks that I've had for about 2+ years that I've never used because I love them so much. I can never find a use that is important enough to "mess" them up. Well, I never want to use any except binder clips because there isn't really much you can mess up. Just the other day I bought yet another notebook...I wonder if I'll actually use it or if I save it to maintain it's prettiness.
I told you this addiction love is bad...

project 365
I have decided to participate in Project 365 - a "challenge" to take a photo a day.
To help me keep track of my daily pictures, I have created another blog - Life Through My Eyes ( www.lifethroughmyeyes-project365.blogspot.com I can't get the hyperlink to work for some reason...)
I will post a new picture each day with a little description underneath.
Sometimes it's hard even to remember what you did the day before yesterday. This way I will be able to go back at the end of the year and see what I've done each day.
I encourage you to do Project 365 as well! I'm really excited about it. :)

happy new year!
Did everyone have a good New Years?
We are fairly "low key" new years wise...we always have a cheese fondue New Year's Eve...but other than that we just kind of hang out. The little girls went to bed before midnight...the rest of us stayed up but just barely.
I couldn't believe that I missed "ringing" in 2010 by five measly seconds!
Sigh...
Today we went to Woolaroc, the favorite lodge of Frank Phillips. It was a beautiful, though cold, day to go today. The museum was amazing...
Frank was interested in exotic animals (e.g. giraffes, zebras, elephants...) and so his lodge (and part of the museum) is filled with the heads of all types of animals.
As you may (or may not) know, I'm obsessed with giraffes. So of course I had to take this picture! :)
Check out the two headed calf (?) on the left...
He had (and they are still there) buffalo. When we were leaving they were very close to our car...it was kind of neat.
In all these pictures I didn't have to zoom in at all.
When we got back (it's roughly an hour's drive) we went out to P.F. Chang's. Believe it or not, it was actually the first time we had gone there. It was so yummy. I love how they serve "family style", with all the food in the middle of the table. I once heard that what you do on the first day of a new year you will do every day. Hmm...I'm not sure that's going to work to drive an hour each way to Woolaroc and go out to eat at P.F. Chang's every day... :) All in all our first day of 2010 was pretty good. How was yours? -carlotta
