at Anthropologie...this giant mirror beckoned me to come and photograph it.
Weekends are a two day oasis. A break from the hustle and bustle of the week, they are woven together with threads consisting of family, food, fun, and some rest. If this criteria were written on a piece of paper, a neat row of check marks would adorn the list after this weekend. Filled with spring blossoms, blue skies, shopping, family, and church, my two day oasis spelled perfection. Though Saturday and Sunday seem to vanish as quickly as they come, often leaving us wishing the work week didn't have to start anew, I'm trying to cherish the every precious moment and not whine about how fast the weekend goes by. I'm grateful that we have a little break at all. I'm grateful that I have a school to attend, places to go, friends to laugh with, family to love, delicious food to eat, full, pink blossoms to gaze at. I'm grateful for life and all that's in it. And I'm grateful for weekends.

How was your weekend? Do tell!

on a grey and cloudy friday
Just a few things I'm loving today...

books are my favorite. {62/365}

- Books. I picked up these two books yesterday, one from 1917 and one from 1914. Love.

- The perfect messy bun. I would wear high buns far more often were it not for my ears...seriously, y'all. I hate them. That is, I hate my right ear. My left one is fine, I suppose, but my right one sticks out more, which makes high buns not so flattering for me. Sigh.

- Stripes. Stripes, along with oxford shoes (both pumps and the ones above), leather bags, and scarves, are my absolutely favorite at the moment. They're so easy to wear and add pattern into an outfit.
What's your favorite trend?

- The fact that I'm six followers away from eight hundred. Y'all are amazing.

shades of the sunroom {59/365}

- Our sunroom. It's so warm and inviting and I adore the blue of the ceiling. Do you have a favorite room of your house?

before
meme's and lilly's room {61/365}
after
- And speaking of rooms, the before and after of MeMe's and Lilly's room makes me feel quite accomplished. MeMe and I cleared out all the unnecessary clutter and rearranged their furniture. I'm quite happy with the outcome and MeMe celebrated by singing that I was her hero.

- This room. I love everything about it, from the gorgeous bedding to the headboard to the muted colors. Beautiful.

- A gorgeous wedding. Just click on it. You'll thank me. (Could the couple be any cuter?)

What are some lovelies you've been crushing on this Friday?

hello march
Hello March, signifying that spring is oh so near.

Hello March, with your breathtaking cerulean skies.

Hello March, tantalizing us with your warmth one day and bitter cold the next.

Hello March, beckoning children to wriggle into their swimsuits and play with the hose.

Hello March, causing blooms to push their way up from the ground.

Hello March, inspiring people to add some color to their winter clothing palette of neutrals.

Hello March, your arrival promising that only a little over two months of school remain until summer break.

Hello March, making trees burst into blossom.

Hello March, bringing pastel color after winter's gloominess.

Hello March. I'm so very glad you're here.

hello march

What's your favorite part about March?

i heart faces: anything other than a face
The theme for I Heart Faces this week is "anything but a face" - love this change ;)

the little ballerina {38/365}

This is my sweet little sister, Lilly. One of my favorite photographs of her, I love the ruffled strap of her ballerina swimsuit and the fact that she's wearing a swimsuit in the middle of winter at all ;) I converted it to black and white because I loved the soulfulness that it adds...what do you think?

Happy Monday! Any plans for the day?
