best buy & swimming
I had an amazing day today...my dad took us shopping...and to Best Buy (finally!)! At last I got to see my precious Nikon D3000. Any doubt that I had was immediately washed away once I held that baby and talked to the sales guy. I am officially in love (if it's even possible to be even more in love with it than I already was). I can't wait to hold it the next time...as mine. :)
Afterwards we headed to the pool again - this time I remembered to actually use my camera.

Right now a friend is sleeping over, so I'm signing off.

Happy (late) Friday!

miscellaneous ramblings
1. I have been sitting here, staring at the screen, for the longest time, not knowing quite just how to start this out. I have so many things floating around in my head, and I'm not sure how to put them all together into something coherent. Hence this "miscellaneous ramblings" post.
2. If you don't know, I'm volunteering at the library three days a week this summer. My first day was Tuesday (It was actually supposed to be Wednesday, but I lost my time schedule and thought it was Tuesday. Oops.)...I had a blast. I had to pull books that people had ordered online, put away books, etc. I know...I'm such a geek. Oh well.
Today I had to hand out tickets at the movie theater across the street - the library partnered up with it and showed Hoot for free...so all I had to do was watch a movie! ;)

3. We're gearing up for VBS, which kicks off on Sunday after church. The theme for this year is "Sherlock Holmes" (Which was my idea, thankyouverymuch ;)) - for the skits, my brother is going to be Sherlock and my dad Watson. I'm sure I'll get a laugh out of that...

4. MeMe made a bracelet, and Lilly said, "That looks weird." MeMe replied, "Lilly! That's not very nice!" Lilly responded, "But I thought about it before I said it!" Snort. While I know it's not good to smile upon this kind of behavior, I couldn't help but laugh. I have a feeling we're in for quite a handful!

happiness is...
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for Happiness Is!

The rules are simple. All you have to do is write a post with two things that make you happy (please link back to me so others can join in the fun!) and link up.

Also, Happiness Is now has its own button!
Please feel free to grab it. (Note: This button does not automatically link back to my blog, it is only a picture with words on it. Just FYI.)

Here are my two things...

Happiness is...

...homemade lemonade. Nothing says summer like this does! And...I'll give you the recipe that we use. Because I love ya.

Homemade Lemonade
-Two large lemons
-1/2 cup sugar
-4 cups water

Roll the lemons on a flat, hard surface to make the juicier. Slice in half and squeeze into a pitcher (if you don't have a citrus juicer, you can just use your hands - just make sure the seeds don't get mixed in the lemonade).
Pour in the water and the sugar and mix well.
If you prefer your lemonade without pulp, you can pour everything through a fine strainer.

How easy is that?! Now I need some lemonade.

...going swimming for the first time this year. I really love summer.

What are two things that have made you happy this week? Link up and have fun!

Just a note - my giveaway is still open until Saturday! If you haven't entered, please do so. :)
