happiness is...
Yep, even though I'm traipsing around Nashville right now, Happiness Is is still happening! I'm will most definitely visit your link ups...I'm going to have access to a computer while I'm there - I just didn't want to deal with writing posts. Which is why I'm scheduling all my posts for this week :)

Want to play along? It's simple. Write a post with two (or more! Maybe you had a good week :)) things that have made you happy this week, with a link to me. Then come back here and link up!

Happiness is...

...a wonderful Forth of July. The skies cleared up, and it turned into a beautiful day. We saw some magnificent fireworks...overall just a lovely day.

...lazy rainy summer days. There's nothing better than curling up with a good book while the rain softly drums on the roof...not having to worry about deadlines or working on projects. Now I want it to rain ;)

What has made you happy this week? Link up and let me know...but most of all, have fun!

magic hour
One of my favorite times of day to take pictures is during magic hour - that last hour or so before the sunset. The light is no longer harsh, like it often is in the afternoon, and is instead soft and golden. It creates an ambiance that you don't have at other times...and it makes for beautiful photos.

What's your favorite time for taking pictures?

i'm in love with a...door?
It's true. I'm in love with a door. Strange? Maybe. Beautiful? YES.

I know, I'm completely crazy. Feel free to run and hide at any time.

This door is in our mudroom (I'm actually in love with the whole mudroom...it has this awesome teal bead board ceiling...everything about it is perfect. That's a whole 'nother post, though.).

The paint is wonderfully chippy, it has four glass windows, the door knob is amazing. Actually, everything is amazing.

See what I mean? Check out that chipping paint. Swoon. I will never, ever, ever let anyone paint this door. EVER. And if someone paints it without my knowledge, I will cry. (I'm a bit obsessed, dontcha think?)

When I move out of my parent's house, I'm going to take it with me and put it in my own home. Ha. I'm not sure they'd appreciate it, though.

And the door knob. Oh, the door knob. Look at it. The keyhole, chippy paint, it's perfect.

Yep...it's official. I've gone crazy. It's bad enough that I'm in love with a door...but to write a blog post about it? That's just insane. Quick! Someone call a therapist! (I've need a therapist a lot lately. First it was IKEA, then flowers, and now a door. Sigh.)

whirlwind
This weekend has been a whirlwind. There was so much to do and so little time. Thankfully, I survived.

I finally finished packing for my trip to Nashville (It's a youth trip - I think I forgot to say. :) We're going for the Higher Things conference). We are only allowed one small carry on (we had to fit everything we need for a week in it) per person, due to the limited size of the bus we're taking. I didn't think I was going to manage, but I did. I took everything that I would have taken had I used a bigger suitcase - I turned it into a challenge. And I succeeded! AND it fits in the bus. I am very proud of myself. Everything that I'm taking I can carry at once: my camera - my mom tried to reason with me and asked me to leave it at home, as she was scared it would be damaged or stolen. No way Jose. I am NOT leaving my baby home! Especially on its first trip! - bag, pillow, and purse. That is quite an accomplishment for me. Normally I have to take AT LEAST two trips to/from the car.

I digress.

We're leaving bright and early at 6am tomorrow. That's early. We're going to be driving all day - we'll probably arrive in Nashville in the late afternoon. We're staying at a hotel tomorrow night, then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we'll be in dorms. Friday we'll be back in the hotel. Then Saturday morning we're leaving to go back home.

I've scheduled some great posts for y'all (So you don't miss me too much! :)). I will have internet access, so I'll be able to read your comments and everything, I just didn't want to deal with posting while there. Hence the scheduled posts. So for you guys, it'll be no different than now!

Above is a sneak peek of one of the posts you can look forward to. Any guesses on what it's about?

Oh, and just a little reminder...my giveaway ends TONIGHT (6/4) at midnight. If you haven't entered, now's your last chance!

Enough about me. How was your weekend?

Alright little chickies...I'm off to Nashville! I'll "see" ya from there :)
